The lack of an Energy Star rating along with some operating features that would make it more efficient are reasons why the LG LFCS31626S doesn't make such a good impression, compared to other models.
At first glance, the LG LFCS31626S refrigerator looks good and offers the impression of a finely-designed unit that could offer you enough space and the right refrigerating options for all your foods. However, it lacks some important features that are not justified by the high price that reaches $2.300, which makes it a questionable choice when it comes to performance and convenience.
LG LFCS31626S is a French door refrigerator that comes in a modern stainless steel finish, with a 3-doors design and a separate pullout freezer located at the bottom. The large freezer door ensures full access to all your frozen foods as it adds to the storage space of this nice looking refrigerator. The doors open one at a time, as there is no door-in-door capability, meaning it doesn’t need too much space at the front for opening the doors. The dimensions of 70 inches in height x 36 inches in width x 36 inches in depth place it among the range-size French door refrigerators.
This refrigerator is perfect for large homes with many family members who need a large fridge that will hold all their necessary foods and beverages. The total capacity of 30.6 cu. ft. is divided into a 2.05 cu. ft. refrigerator for storing your fresh groceries and a 10.1 cu. ft. freezer for the frozen goodies. The interior of the refrigerator area does not impress with a smart design and division, as there are no humidity controlled crisper drawers for fruits and vegetables. The door, however, includes gallon bins for holding bottles and tall containers and a dairy compartment for butter or cheese. The freezer also includes several compartments that make storage more versatile and allow you to sort the frozen items inside the three shelves and on the door.
The main feature that makes this refrigerator attractive is the Smart Cooling Plus technology that maintains the perfect temperature and humidity conditions inside the refrigerator. It includes a linear compressor and dual evaporators that adjust the interior environment in order to keep your food fresher for a longer time. At the same time, strategically-placed vents ensure fresh and cool air in every corner of the refrigerator so all the foods receive the same amount of air.
You can adjust the temperature manually with the LCD membrane controls and display and the premium LCD lighting keeps the inside of the LG LFCS31626S visible. The shelves are designed as Glide N’ Access so you can easily organize the groceries and no spills will happen inside your fridge with the spill-safe feature.
The smart pullout freezer drawer is easy to open and offers full access to everything inside the freezer. The refrigerator includes a factory-installed icemaker that offers up to 3 lbs of ice every day and uses a water filtration system for fresh ice. However, you will not like the lack of a water dispenser that would deliver fresh water instantly.
A big disadvantage of this refrigerator is the lack of an Energy Star rating that most units nowadays have, which could be the reason for some customers to avoid purchasing it. Not being an Energy Start rated appliance influences a high energy consumption of 674 kWh per year and increases your electricity bill in an unpleasant way.
You will neither be impressed by the short 1-year warranty that covers both parts and labor. However, LG offers an extended 10-years warranty on the compressor, which is a great thing if you consider the high replacement price of this component. LG also offers customer support via email and phone and there are manuals that can be downloaded from the official website so you can learn how to properly use this refrigerator.
